Key Takeaways (TL;DR)
A Sales Navigator Chrome extension can work inside Sales Navigator. While the platform has no extension of its own for lead lists and profile pages, you can use an extension from a third-party vendor like Enginy. Our Chrome extension opens a side panel on every Sales Navigator profile you view.
The panel shows a fit score and campaign membership. It also shows the last time anyone on your team spoke to the person and where they stand in a sequence.
While Sales Navigator finds and tracks leads well, it holds no record of what your own colleagues have already sent.
Working a lead list without losing context takes 7 steps: build, import, open, enrich, check the trigger, draft and sync.
Every team member needs their own Enginy user login. The extension runs on Chrome and other Chromium browsers only.
The extension drafts an opening line. You send it yourself from your own account.
Enginy can be an effective Sales Navigator alternative - especially if you want list building, enrichment and outreach; all in one place.

Is There a Sales Navigator Chrome Extension That Works Inside the Platform?
Sales Navigator has no extension of its own for its lead lists and profile pages. The extensions people search for come from other tools, and Enginy's is one of them.
In practice, a Sales Navigator Chrome extension adds a panel to the pages you already use.
So when you open a profile inside Sales Navigator, the panel loads beside it with data that Sales Navigator itself does not hold: your team's history with that prospect, a reason to get in touch and other details.
Enginy's Chrome extension panel works the same way. It sits on the right of any Sales Navigator profile, while also opening on social profiles and HubSpot records. As a result, the same view follows you wherever you prospect.
This fits how most reps already work, since the list stays inside Sales Navigator and the context arrives one profile at a time as you work through the list.
Every profile arrives with its history attached, so you keep your full context of the list from the first lead to the last.
What does a Sales Navigator extension for Chrome add?
A good Sales Navigator extension for Chrome fills the gaps that sit around the list.
As soon as a profile opens, Enginy's panel shows the following:
A fit score against your ideal customer profile
The campaigns and lists the person already sits in
The date anyone on your team last spoke to them
Where they stand in a sequence: messages sent, replies received and current status
Company details such as headcount growth
Those details answer the first questions a rep has about any profile. The next step is to act on them. Save the profile and the panel unlocks the rest of the details.
After saving you can enrich the email and phone and add the person to a campaign.
From there, the record can move to HubSpot straight from the panel. Other CRMs that Enginy supports receive contacts through the regular syncing process.
Why does context disappear when you work a lead list?
To see why this matters, picture a rep with 60 profiles open across a morning. Each profile raises the same checks. The rep has to judge fit and confirm that no colleague has written to the person, while keeping the data current.
Sales Navigator answers none of those checks. It knows what its own network knows and cannot see campaigns or your CRM. It also cannot see the email your colleague sent yesterday.
Reps then fill the gap with spreadsheets and tabs. Salesforce's State of Sales research found that reps spend only 28% of their week selling. More than 70% of their time therefore goes on non-sales activities.
A Sales Navigator Chrome extension removes some of that tab switching and effort by putting the answers on the profile itself.
That being said, an extension works best on top of a well-built list. So before you add one, it helps to see exactly what Sales Navigator already does well.
What Sales Navigator Does Well Before You Add an Extension?

Sales Navigator earns its place in most outbound stacks. Enginy's extension sits on top of it and leaves your searches and lists where they are.
So it helps to be clear about what Sales Navigator already covers:
1. Lead lists and account lists
A lead list holds individual people. An account list holds companies. Both let you save results from a search with the Save to list option and name the list for later.
Account lists also feed back into lead search. You can filter people by the account lists you saved. That gives you a quick way to find the buyers inside a set of target companies.
Name every list with a rule you can read at a glance. We use the pattern region, role, industry and company size. An example is EU / CEOs / Technology / 51-200. The name then tells you what the list holds without opening it.
2. Filters and alerts that flag a reason to reach out
Filters do most of the work. You can narrow by seniority and function. You can narrow by years in the current role and by company headcount.
Timing filters add more context: people who changed jobs in the past 90 days or posted in the past 30 days are easier to open a conversation with.
Saved searches carry the effort forward. Sales Navigator alerts you when new profiles match a search you saved.
Your lists then keep growing without a fresh search each morning.
That being said, there is a limitation you should know about too. A single search stops returning results at around 2,500 profiles.
To get past it, split a broad search into narrower ones - filtering them by region, company size and other similar filters.
3. Where Sales Navigator stops
The limits of Sales Navigator show up once a list is ready and you need to reach the people on it. The platform doesn't give you verified emails or phone numbers, while built-in messaging stops at connection requests and InMail.
Multichannel sequences are absent too, and so is any record of what your colleagues have already sent.
These gaps follow from what Sales Navigator was built to do, which is discovery.
Everything that comes after discovery - from enrichment to outreach - needs another layer on top.
That layer is usually filled up by a Sales Navigator extension, which is something we'll discuss in the next section.
How to Work a Lead List Without Losing Context?

With the above mentioned gaps in mind, here's how to work a lead list from the first search to the first reply:
Step 1: Build the list with tight filters
Start in Sales Navigator and keep each list to one segment. Use boolean operators in the job title field to catch the roles your ICP actually uses. A string such as "Head of Sales" OR "VP Sales" NOT recruiter removes a lot of noise.
Check the result count before you save. If a search sits near the 2,500 ceiling, split it.
A list of 300 people you can finish this week beats a list of 2,400 you will never reach.
Boolean strings worth saving
A few strings cover most ICPs. Save them in a shared note so every rep starts from the same base.
"CEO" OR "Chief Executive Officer" OR "General Manager"
("Head of Sales" OR "VP Sales" OR "Sales Director") NOT (recruiter OR assistant OR intern)
("Head of Operations" OR "COO") AND (SaaS OR "software")
Wrap every OR group in brackets. Sales Navigator reads a string from left to right. Brackets make the order explicit and protect the result.
Step 2: Import the list into Enginy
With the list saved in Sales Navigator, the next move is to bring it into Enginy:
Go to Lists and choose Create New
Pick the Sales Navigator URL source
Paste the URL of your saved search
Enginy then imports the matching contacts into a list you can work in
If you'd rather skip Sales Navigator for this step, the other alternative is to build the list inside Enginy instead.
Our "Find Contacts" feature takes filters such as: job title, seniority, company headcount and intent signals. The "AI Finder" goes a step further, allowing you to type a plain sentence such as: "CTOs at early-stage startups in Barcelona", and it sets the filters for you.
Either way, check the list before you enrich it, because title filters can let near-matches through. Run an AI Variable over the list and ask it to classify each title as 'Good' or 'Bad' against your target.
Then filter out the 'bad' ones before you spend anything on enrichment.
Step 3: Open each profile with the panel on
Now open the first profile in Sales Navigator and let the Enginy panel load on the right. Before you write a word, run through four quick checks:
The fit score, since a low score tells you to move on
The campaigns and lists the person already sits in
The last contact date, which shows whether a colleague wrote to the same person yesterday
The sequence status, which shows the messages sent and replies received if the person is already in one
Together these checks tell you where the conversation stands before you add anything. A duplicate gets caught now and not after the reply lands.
Tiering then makes the call faster, while Tier 1 holds the best-fit companies by size and region. Tier 2 holds good fits and Tier 3 holds stretches.
Anyone who fails the fit test leaves the list.
On busy days, prioritise Tier 1 first.
Step 4: Save and enrich in one click
Once a profile passes those checks, click Save and the panel unlocks. Enrichment runs on save and returns the email, phone and full profile details. You can then add the person to a list or campaign straight away.
Email enrichment comes in two modes:
Fast uses the quickest providers
Deep goes through all of them and takes longer
Whichever you pick, run email verification afterwards so bounces stay low before you launch.
In addition, the panel also protects you from awkward sends by flagging blocked contacts. A contact counts as 'blocked' if they match your blocklist by profile URL or email.
A match on the company profile URL or domain counts as well, which keeps you from writing to a customer or partner by accident.
Step 5: Read the trigger
With the contact saved, the panel tells you when to act. On a saved contact it returns one of three states and each one points to the next move:
Engage Now means there is a live reason to reach out today. Badges show why: a recent post, a job change, a promotion or a hiring push.
Engagement Summary means there is already activity to catch up on before you write.
Time to Refresh means the data is more than 30 days old and needs a refresh first.
The state matters because timing carries more weight than polish - since a short message sent the week someone starts a new role lands better than a perfect one sent in month six.
Step 6: Draft the opening line and start the sequence
When the state reads 'Engage Now', click Get intro message.
Enginy then drafts an opening line built on that live reason, written in the prospect's own language. All that remains is to copy it and send it yourself.
Sending one message at a time works for a single contact. For a wider run, add the contact to a campaign.
Enginy supports multichannel outreach, which combines email, social messages and manual tasks in a single sequence.
Each sequence can branch on conditions, so the next message depends on what the prospect does. It also stops on its own when a prospect replies, which hands the conversation back to you.
A single run can reach several stakeholders at one account too, so more than one person at the company hears from you.
Whichever route you take, set your sending limits before a campaign goes live. Enginy's playbook caps email at 30 per domain per day and social connection requests at 20 per day, rising to 30 for accounts with a high Social Selling Index. Email Warm-Up on every Identity builds sender reputation before volume does.
Every message also follows the same four parts from Enginy's playbook:
An opening line built on the live reason
The problem the person probably has
One sentence on how you solve it with a proof point
A closing question under 5 words
A social message built that way stays under 30 words. Here is an example:
Congrats on the new role, Anna. I saw the team is hiring SDRs. Worth a quick chat?
Emails follow the same shape and stay under 150 words. A line break after every sentence keeps them easy to scan.
Step 7: Sync to your CRM and watch the replies
Once messages are going out, two things need attention:
Where the contacts live
Where the replies land
On the CRM side, push saved contacts to HubSpot straight from the panel, which also opens on HubSpot pages. Other CRMs that Enginy supports receive the data through its regular sync and export.
Replies are handled in a single inbox, with folders and tags; and the side panel shows contact and company details beside each conversation.
When a sequence stops after a reply, you can take over by hand or let an AI agent draft the answer.
A 20-minute daily routine for a live list
With the seven steps in place, batching keeps the panel useful. This routine fits a morning block and repeats every day:
Spend 3 minutes in Tasks and clear anything due today.
Spend 4 minutes refreshing profiles marked Time to Refresh.
Spend 8 minutes on the Engage Now profiles. Read the panel and send the drafted opening lines.
Spend 3 minutes in the inbox. Tag the replies and take over any conversation that needs a person.
Spend 2 minutes adding the next batch of saved profiles to a campaign.
The routine follows the panel's own states, so refresh comes before outreach and replies come before new sends.

What the company view shows
Every step so far has worked at the level of the individual profile. The panel also steps back to the account level, which helps when you want the wider picture of a company before you reach out.
On a company page, the Contacts tab lists the people already in your Enginy database who match that company. Matching runs on the company's profile URL. That shows you who else from the account is already in Enginy before you add another person.
The company view has two limits to keep in mind:
The tab only shows people already stored in Enginy, so it does not pull people live and it does not filter by score
Subsidiaries have their own profile pages, so a parent company's contacts do not appear under a subsidiary
With the workflow and the account view covered, the next section shows how to install the extension.
How to Install the Enginy Chrome Extension for Sales Navigator?

Enginy's Chrome extension is the piece that combines with Sales Navigator to power your outreach.
It opens as a panel beside every Sales Navigator profile you view, so the context you need sits right next to the lead.
Setup needs two things: an active Enginy account and a Chromium browser. The account must have user credentials, because an Identity cannot sign in.
The browser can be Google Chrome or any other Chromium-based option, since our extension doesn't run on Firefox or Safari.
Once both are ready, follow these steps:
Open the Enginy listing on the Chrome Web Store.
Click 'Add to Chrome' and confirm the permissions.
Click the Enginy icon in your toolbar and sign in with your Enginy account.
Open any Sales Navigator profile. The panel opens on the right.
Click Save on an unsaved profile to unlock the full view. Enrichment runs on save.
Click Get intro message when the contact is worth reaching now. Copy the draft into your own message.
The extension is included in your plan, though some panel actions use credits as they do elsewhere in Enginy.
Your balance shows at the top of the panel so you can track it, and viewing the existing details of a saved contact costs nothing.
Those steps cover one person. If you are rolling the extension out to a whole team, the setup works a little differently.
Setting up the extension for a whole team
The extension works per person, because each user signs in with their own account and logins cannot be shared.
Rolling it out to a team therefore follows three steps:
An admin creates a user for each person under the team settings.
Each person installs the extension in their own browser.
Each person signs in with their own credentials.
Admins cannot install the extension on anyone's behalf. A standard user is enough, so nobody needs admin rights.
If you run out of user licences, contact your account manager before going further.
If the panel does not behave as expected
Most problems trace back to four causes, and each takes under a minute to fix:
You cannot sign in: the extension needs user credentials, so ask your admin to create your login under the team settings
You see a locked view: click Save and the full details appear
You saved a contact but cannot find the list: contacts saved without a list go into a default list named after you, so move them from inside Enginy
A contact shows as blocked: check the Companies blocklist as well as the Contacts one, since matches on company URL or domain block the person too
With the extension installed and working, the next step is to judge it against what a good Sales Navigator extension should do.
Sales Navigator Alternative: When an Extension Is Not Enough
An extension improves the work you do after you find a lead. It does not change where leads come from. If Sales Navigator is your only source then your list quality depends on its filters and its data.
Some teams reach a point where that is too narrow. They want list building, enrichment and outreach in one place. That is where a Sales Navigator alternative like Enginy earns a look.
The tool builds lists with its own filters, starting with firmographics such as company size, industry and region. On top of those sit intent signals: recent hires, job changes and funding rounds, along with technology stack use and job postings.
If you would rather skip the filters, AI Finder turns a plain sentence into the right ones.
From there, data arrives from more than 30 enrichment providers in real time, and waterfall logic maximises coverage.
A cleaning step before and after enrichment keeps invalid contacts out of your CRM. Our end-to-end GTM platform then carries the list through to outreach.
The two options are not exclusive. Many teams keep Sales Navigator for discovery and run the rest of the process in Enginy.
To reach your own decision, use the table below:
Keep Sales Navigator as your source when | Move list building to Enginy when |
Your ICP is easy to describe with its filters | Your ICP depends on intent signals such as hiring or funding |
Your team already lives in saved searches and alerts | You want lists to refresh on their own without manual searches |
You only need context on profiles you open | You want one workflow from list to sequence to CRM |
You have a small list and a short outreach run | You need to cover several stakeholders at each account |
Either route leads to the same goal: a lead list you can work from the first profile to the last without losing the context. If Sales Navigator already fits your searches, the extension adds the missing context.
On the other hand, if intent signals, enrichment and outreach are as important to you as discovery - Enginy offers better, more well-rounded coverage.

Where Sales Begin: Work Every Sales Navigator List With Full Context
We built Enginy as an end-to-end GTM platform that covers the full path from list building through multichannel outreach in one product. Unlike most tools, it needs no technical know-how or assistance from a GTM engineer.
It is ideal for sales teams that live in Sales Navigator and have outgrown a browser tab. At Factorial, each SDR saved 3 to 4 hours a day and reply rates rose from 10% to 45%.
Similarly, Venair grew monthly leads 2 to 3 times using our platform.
Give your reps the fit score and history on every Sales Navigator profile before they write a word. Book a demo with the Enginy team and work on your first list.
FAQs About the Sales Navigator Chrome Extension
Is there a Chrome extension that works inside Sales Navigator?
A Chrome extension that works inside Sales Navigator does exist, and Enginy's is one. Sales Navigator has no extension of its own for its lead lists and profile pages. Enginy's panel opens on the right of each Sales Navigator profile. It shows a fit score and campaign membership. It also shows the last team contact and sequence status.
Is the Sales Navigator Chrome extension free?
The Enginy Sales Navigator Chrome extension is included in your Enginy plan at no extra cost. Every user your admin adds can install it. Some panel actions such as enrichment use credits like they do elsewhere in Enginy. Sales Navigator itself needs its own licence.
How do I install the Sales Navigator extension for Chrome?
To install the Sales Navigator extension for Chrome you add Enginy from the Chrome Web Store and confirm the permissions. Sales Navigator has no extension of its own so Enginy's is the one you install. Then you sign in with your Enginy User login. The whole setup takes 6 short steps.
Does the Sales Navigator extension work in Firefox or Safari?
The Sales Navigator extension does not work in Firefox or Safari. It needs Chrome or another Chromium browser such as Edge, Brave or Arc. Each person installs it in their own browser and signs in with their own login. Admins cannot install it on someone else's behalf.
Can you use Sales Navigator without a Chrome extension?
You can use Sales Navigator without a Chrome extension because it runs fully in the browser on its own. It gives you lists, filters and alerts. It does not give you verified emails, team outreach history or multichannel sequences. An extension adds those layers on the profile page.
What is the best Sales Navigator alternative for building lead lists?
The best Sales Navigator alternative depends on whether you need discovery or the full path to outreach. Enginy builds lists from firmographic filters and intent signals and enriches them from more than 30 providers. It then runs the outreach and syncs to your CRM. Many teams keep both.
How do I move a Sales Navigator list into my CRM?
To move a Sales Navigator list into your CRM you paste the saved search URL into Enginy under Lists. Enginy imports and enriches the contacts. The panel pushes saved contacts to HubSpot and other supported CRMs receive them through Enginy's regular sync. Run email verification first so invalid addresses stay out.
Why do I need an extension if Sales Navigator shows profile data?
You need an extension because Sales Navigator shows public profile data and no internal history. It cannot tell you whether a colleague wrote to the person yesterday or whether your data is older than 30 days. The Enginy panel shows both on the same screen. That prevents duplicate outreach and stale messages.
